To me, family photography isn’t about perfect outfits or everyone smiling at the camera. It’s about connection, movement, and life. My style is authentic, nostalgic, and inspired by film.
My approach is natural and laid-back, gently guided, never forced. I give you space to be yourselves, because the most meaningful moments happen when you feel relaxed, present, and completely at ease.
Every session is personal. Whether you’re celebrating something big or simply want to hold onto this season, you never need an excuse to document your family.
So, let’s pause time for a little while. Come as you are, wear what feels like you. Choose a place that means something, or stay at home. We’ll keep things simple. You’ll spend time together, and I’ll quietly document it all with intention and care, the in-between glances, the laughter, the softness, the chaos.

I’m Melanie, a Cornwall maternity, newborn and family photographer, and a mother who understands just how fleeting these seasons are. I’ve been there, growing babies, living through the blurry newborn haze, chasing toddlers, and finding my way through the beautiful chaos of family life. And now, looking back, I see it clearly, the little things were always the big things,
The weight of a sleeping child on your chest. Tiny toddler curls. Holding little hands that wanted to go everywhere with you.
That’s why this work means so much to me. Because I know the days you’re living right now, that somehow felt both endless and far too short are the ones you’ll ache for.
When I photograph your family, I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking for your connection. Your presence. The way you naturally are together. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly, I’ll create space for you to settle in, to soften, to just be.
