Where A New Chapter Unfolds

I’ve been so excited to share this session

Spending time with Natalie and her adorable family in their home as their Plymouth maternity photographer felt like such an honour. This family was standing on the threshold of a major new chapter. A new home, a new baby on the way, and so much change gently unfolding around them. Little Lola, especially, was bursting with excitement at the thought of becoming a big sister again.

The family are originally from the Netherlands and is now building their life together in Plymouth. There was a beautiful sense of intention in their space that encouraged conversation and connection, the Scandinavian way. A dream to photograph. Calm, light-filled, and full of warmth.

One of my favourite parts of maternity sessions like this is noticing the places where life will soon shift again. The corners where a newborn will be cuddled. The rooms that will hold sleepless nights, soft mornings, and brand new routines. I’m grateful I’ll be able to witness this when I photograph the new baby in a few months.

Growing a baby is pretty incredible, isn’t it? Of course, it’s a different experience for everyone; some find it easier, for others it’s harder, and for all of us it changes our bodies forever. You might not realise it now, but it’s very likely that you will miss your bump once it is gone. I urge you to capture it in any way that feels right for you. Your body is a true wonder. Take all the photos so you will always have them to look back on.
